News and Announcements
The Reds got to experience their first festival in Ancaster. The girls had a blast and they played two really strong games against Guelph and St. Catherines. We are really happy with the girls’ work. They’ve been showing great improvement on both offense and defense (positioning and looking to make the right passes on offence and especially in finding the right player to mark on defense). We will continue to help the girls get stronger kicks and work on finishing attacks with more regularity. Good job girls and thank you parents for supporting the team!

For anyone who missed out on Friday’s (April 27) exhibition games, they went really well. Reds played very well and demonstrated their strength against the a U10 tier two team and Whites had toe-to-toe play against a U9 tier 1 team that also played throughout the winter. Very exciting start!
A quick reminder about Sunday’s (April 29) 4:00pm: we’re back at UWO behind TD Stadium. It’s been brought to my attention that the map on teamer was wrong. Please ignore it. We’re on Alumni Field this time (the one above last week’s). Also, if you’ve yet to submit the player profile form found at the back of the parents’ package and/or submit the team fee, please remember to bring them to practice this weekend.
Practices will be on at Hazelden Park South – 430 Hyde Park Rd starting May 8. They will be run by all coaches with all players rotating through skill-oriented and game situation drills. Practices will officially end at 7:15, but we have field time so players can stay around after to play for fun and spend some time together.
Game schedules are available on teamer and the EMDSL website for both the teams: Oakridge Phoenix Red and Oakridge Phoenix White. The majority of games are on and home games are at Hazelden Park. Whenever possible, we encourage players to watch and support their teammates who play at a different time.
Your coaches will be supporting both the red and white teams at practices to help build relationship and capitalize on expertise. Coaches will have a primary team assignment for games, but will participate in games of both teams as needed. Dusko Cvetkovic is the head coach for the entire Phoenix pool. He is ultimately responsible for the strategic direction of the program. He will be primarily assigned to Phoenix Red games with the assistance of Jann Paquette-Warren and Patrick Gavin. Christina “Tina” Gosnell’s primary assignment will be to the Phoenix White games. She will be assisted by Matt Hoogenboom and Sergio Chuy. All of your coaches have obtained the mandatory training and related certificates in accordance with Oakridge Soccer Club and the Ontario Soccer Association.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact your coaching team by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
